Building Collapse: Rs 60000 to be paid to the kin of deceased workers
Hyderabad: Under Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act 1996, along with Rs 60,000 additional Rs 20,000 for the funeral charges will be given to the kin of the two laborers who died on Sunday under building collapse at Film Nagar.
The labor department which conducted a probe, in its report said that the deceased were unregistered workers who migrated from Karnataka and West Bengal. The officials submitted the report to government on Monday.

Following the catastrophe, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said that GHMC has lodged complaint against the management of Film Nagar Cultural Club (FNCC) and its contractors. Similarly, the section officer and assistant city planner Sekhar Reddy has been suspended for his negligence over the under construction building.
The officials have been directed to complete the exercise by August 3 and the identified buildings will be razed by August 6
Asked about the measures the civic body is considering, GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy said that town planning staff has been directed to identify the dilapidated buildings constructed after October 28 last year.

So far 1,997 dilapidated structures have been identified , out of which 752 have been pull down while 200 are pending being involved in court cases.
