Andhra Pradesh assembly paid tributes to Bhooma Shobha Nagi Reddy, who died in a road accident on April 24.

Speaking in the assembly, YSRCP president Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy said that he never thought he had to memorise her in the assembly in this way.

“Shobhamma become an MLA at an young age of 27 years coming from a political family. She was never defeated in any election. She entered the public life through a bye election in 1996,” said YS Jagan.

He said that Allagadda people had elected her eventhough she was not among them physically. “Shobhamma was elected from there with a majority of 18,000 votes,” reminded YS Jagan.

“Allagadda people elected her as their representative eventhough they knew that bye elections are compulsory,” said Pulivendula MLA.

He described Shobha Nagi Reddy as one of his family members.

“I was in Guntur district when I knew about the accident on June 24. I cancelled my campaigning and immediately left to visit her,” reminded YS Jagan.

He said that he could not console the three children of Shobha after her death. “I pained a lot seeing Nagi Reddy at the time of her death,” said the YSRCP president.

“I pray God that her soul would rest in peace,” said YS Jagan.
