Bride Sets Groom On Fire 3 Days Ahead Of Marriage
Warangal: In a strange incident, a bride set fire on her fiance just few days before the marriage. A man, who was set on fire by his fiance, succumbed to the burn injuries today in a private hospital in Jangaon town, 58 kms away from Warangal.
Yakaiah, a native of Kanchanapalli village in Raghunathpally mandal in Jangaon district, was to get married to a woman named Aruna of Madharam village in the district, on February 21. However, Aruna was not interested to marry Yakaiah since she was in love with another man from the same village.
Aruna's parents had several times warned her about her close association with Balaswamy. She was chided by her relatives as well for her relationship with Balaswamy since he is a distant relative (cousin brother) to Aruna.
Having come to understand that Aruna was in no mood to listen, her parents forced her to acept to marry Yakaiah. Angered over her relatives not accepting her love for Balaswamy, they both hatched a plan to kill the groom — Yakaiah.
On February 18, Yakaiah along with parents performed house-warming function. In the evening, Aruna called Yakaiah on phone and asked him to come outside his home citing week cellphone signal. As per the plan, Balaswamy pounced on Yakaiah and doused the latter with petrol, set him ablaze. Hearing loud cries, the relatives rushed to the rescue of Yakaiah and shifted him to a nearby hospital. Yakaiah finally succumbed to the burns today while undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
