Brazil all set for Rio Olympics with 90 lakh condoms
Rio De Janeiro: Brazil is getting ready in every which way for the world’s mega sports tournament Rio Olympics-2016 including with 90 Lakh condoms to ensure the safe sex for the athletes and visitors during the mega event which will commence on August 5 in Rio De Janeiro.
Both male condoms as well as female condoms along with several lakhs of packets of lubricant that will be supplied from the clinics in the Athletes’ Village or from the vending machines during the mega event.
The host country Brazil is expecting that large number of visitors and sports-lovers will turn out for the international sports tournament. The officials of International Olympic Committee stated that the condoms would be distributed free of cost for the thousands of athletes and staff. They said there will be both male condoms as well as female condoms along with several lakhs of packets of lubricant that will be supplied from the clinics in the Athletes’ Village or from the vending machines.
The condoms are being made from rubber trees in Amazon forest and will be manufactured by Natex Lab, said the Health Department, adding, the practice is intended to avoid any Sexually Transmitted Diseases like HIV. They said all the possible steps were being taken up for the security of the participants in the event.
