Botsa slams Oppn on power agitations


PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana on Sunday took a dig at opposition parties saying they were agitating for political gain.

Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa said the Congress party had never said that it would not hike power charges.  However, he appealed to the Kiran Kumar Reddy government to see that the common people should not be caused inconvenience with hike in power charges. He was making this request on behalf of the Congress party, he said and assured that steps would be taken that there would not be any financial problems for middle class families due to power tariff hike.

Botsa said the gap between the power supply and demand was about 62 million units. We have to invest crores of rupees for buying power from the neighbouring states as it is also a people’s money, Botsa defended the government’s decision and pooh-poohed the opposition parties for resorting to agitations to get political mileage of out it.
