Botsa, mind your language: Shobha Nagireddy
PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana is back in the news with another controversial remark. This time he has landed in trouble after he made a derogatory statement about late Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy's personal life and also Vijyamma's deeksha (two-day hunger strike) at a press conference in Hyderabad.
YSRCP leaders have out-rightly condemned the remarks made by Botsa. Terming his talks as senseless, Allagadda MLA Bhuma Shobha Nagireddy warned Botsa to control his language. She reminded him that his family members were holding plum posts only because of YSR. "It's a 'political samadhi' for Botsa after his remarks against YSR," she said. "Botsa was not even eligible to utter YSR's name. Public will teach him a fitting lesson if he does not withdraw his words," she added.
She also said that it was not uncommon for Botsa to denigrate women in his talks. She was referring to Botsa's remark on the Delhi gangrape incident. “Just because we got freedom at midnight, can we roam on the roads in mid-night? The girl should not have traveled in the private bus in the night,” Botsa had said back then.
She told him that Vijayamma wouldn't undertake deeksha if the government had implemented the fee scheme properly. Meanwhile, YSR supporters burnt the effigies of Botsa across the state asking him to apologise for his comments on the former chief minister.
Former MLA of Bobbili, Sujaya krishna Ranga Rao also condemned Botsa's remarks. "Botsa made the remark unable to bear the overwhelming response Sharmila received at Vizianagaram," he said.
