Botsa hints at early polls for Lok Sabha

PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana on Friday said elections to Lok Sabha may be possible any time and appealed to the party cadre to gear up for elections.

Addressing the party workers at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa directed the leaders to form district, block and mandal level committees before April 15. He advised the party leaders to publicise the government schemes such as SC, ST sub-plan, budget allocations to weaker sections and minorities, agriculture action plan and other welfare schemes. The leaders reportedly complained to the PCC chief that the people were angry with hike in power charges and lack of support price for agricultural products. They further added that going for election at this juncture was not advisable.

New Delhi, May 31 (IANS) Amid the latest wave of Covid-19, the number of SARS-CoV2 infections in the country has risen to 2,170. As many as 511 new cases were recorded from the previous day, according to the latest update by the Health Ministry on Saturday. Meanwhile, 255 patients were discharged or migrated in the last 24 hours, indicating an improvement in recovery.
