Boney Kapoor Stopped Sridevi From Accepting Baahubali: RGV

SS Rajamouli's magnum opus Babubali raised the bar of Telugu cinema and brought recognition to Tollywood at the global level. All the actors and actresses, especially Ramya Krishna, who played Shivagami in the two-part sequel movie, have received laurels for their performances.

However, it is learnt that late actress Sridevi was chosen for playing the Shivagami character. Since Sridevi refused to act in the movie, Ramya Krishna was roped in to the project. On several ocassions, director Rajamouli confirmed this.

In February this year, Sridevi died in an unnatural way, due to accidental drowning in a bathtub in her Dubai Hotel room following the loss of consciousness.

In a latest development, controversial director Ram Gopal Verma made some sensational comments on her denial to act in Baahubali. "Her husband Boney Kapoor is the reason behind Sridevi rejecting role in Baahubali. When I spoke with Sridevi on multiple occasions regarding Baahubali, she was interested to do the film. However, Boney demanded a huge remuneration, which led to her not act in the block buster. She was never happy in her married life because she has lost a great deal in her career due to bad decisions by Boney," he said.
