Bomb Scare Hits Delhi Airport Over Suspicous Object

A bomb scare was witnessed at the Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi on Wednesday after a suspicious object was found at the cargo hold area - Sakshi Post

New Delhi: A bomb scare was witnessed at the Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi on Wednesday after a suspicious object was found at the cargo hold area. However it was later discovered that it was consignment containing auto spare parts.

CISF Director General O P Singh said that an X-ray image of a consignment of Maruti spare parts raised suspicion among the staff of the domestic cargo terminal. The terminal staff then alerted the CISF, who reached the spot with bomb squads and canine teams.

"The bomb disposal squad and canine teams found that the suspect item was nothing but some spare parts of (auto) company Maruti. The consignment and the area have been sanitised and declared safe," officials involved in airport security said.The cargo, which was declared safe by both the CISF and the bomb disposal squad, was to be loaded on a Delhi-Goa Vistara flight.
