Bomb Attack At JD(U) MP’s House, One Arrested
Bihar: At least six people were injured in a bomb attack targeted at JD(U) Rajya Sabha MP Kahkashan Parveen in Bhagalpur district of Bihar on Sunday evening.
Parveen was discussing campaign strategy for the upcoming municipal corporation elections outside her residence. At around 7.30 pm there was a power cut and taking advantage of the ensuing darkness, attackers hurled a bomb at her.
The bomb exploded 10 meters away from her dias, thus helping her escape with her life, but six people, including her three relatives were injured in the attack. Of those six injured, two are critical, one of them being Parveen’s father.
Bhagalpur SSP Manoj Kumar soon reached the spot and heavy security was deployed in the area. Parveen's house is adjacent to a mosque in Ishaqchak area of the town and initial reports say the attack could be linked to a long-standing land dispute involving the MP's family.
