In a tragic turn of events, a 16-year-old boy in Noida killed his mother and sister after being influenced by a violent video game. According to reports, the teenager was addicted to a video game High School Gangster Escape which is similar to the deadly Blue Whale challenge.

Police said that the boy beat his mother Anjali Agarwal and his 11-year-old sister to death with his cricket bat. The faces of the victims were completely disfigured by the act, said the police.

After realising what he had done, the boy ran away with INR 2 lakh cash and his mother's mobile phone.

"My son cannot kill his mother and sister. I appeal to him to come home and he should not be afraid. He should come and tell the truth," the woman's husband Soumya Agarwal said.

Although the boy's dad did not immediately believe his son could have carried out such a dastardly act, the boys addiction to the violent video game raised his suspicions. The police believe it was this game that drove him to murder. The police immediately formed four teams to trace the boy who had fled he scene.

In a latest development, the missing boy was picked up from the holy town of Varanasi last evening. The police traced the boy after they tracked the phone number from which the boy called his father. The police will bring back the boy to Noida for further questioning.
