Blow To TDP As Silpa Mohan Reddy Likely To Join YSRCP
Kurnool: In what could be seen as a major blow for the ruling TDP in Kurnool district, former minister Silpa Mohan Reddy will join the YSRCP. Silpa Mohan Reddy himself announced that he would leave the TDP and join the YSRCP on June 14 in the presence of YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The Silpa family, which has a strong base in the district, has been at loggerheads with the Bhuma family for long. When Bhuma Nagireddy and his daughter Akhilapriya had joined the TDP, the Silpa family strongly opposed it. Now, with the Nandyal assembly constituency bypoll imminent, TDP supremo Chandrababu is planning to field Bhuma Nagireddy's nephew Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy from there. A peeved Silpa has held a meeting with his supporters and decided to join the YSRCP.
the Silpa family has been a long time TDP backer and Silpa Mohan Reddy had even worked as a minister in the TDP Government earlier.
