BJP Women’s Wing Leader Arrest In Child Trafficking Case

West Bengal: BJP women's wing leader Juhi Chowdhury was arrested on Tuesday night for her involvement in Japaiguri child trafficking case. The CID took her into custody from the Batasia area close to the Indo-Nepal border.

Along with Juhi, a total of four persons have been arrested for their involvement in selling of babies and children across India and other countries in the last few months using an NGO. Sonali Mondal, Chief Adoption Officer of the NGO, Chandana Chakraborty, Chairperson of Bimala Sishu Griho and Manas Bhowmik, brother of Chandana were involved in the case.

They were charged for selling 17 children, aged between 1-14 years to foreigners at high price.

West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh responding on the issue said the party was looking into the allegations against Chowdhury and would take action if she was found guilty.
