BJP-TDP tie up: Fresh trouble brewing for Chandrababu?
Has wanting to capitalise on the Modi wave turned costly for TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu?
In spite of BJP rushing to save a tottering BJP-TDP alliance, it would seem that the Saffron party has the upper hand. According to an English daily, BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi made it clear to Chandrababu, either the latter withdraws TDP candidates from seats given to BJP in Seemandhra, or stays away from NDA rally in Hyderabad, that will take place on April 22.
TDP candidates filed their official nominations from three Assembly seats- Santanutalapadu, Kaikalur and Kadapa, even though those three were given to BJP as per the merger promise.
It is said that unhappy over this development, BJP top brass sent clear message to Chandrababu asking him to steer clear of the NDA rally, if he fails to withdraw TDP candidates from those three regions by Monday evening.
Reportedly, this message was sent at the direction of Narendra Modi.
Will Chandrababu bow to the demands of its partner, BJP or will he give the rally a miss?
