BJP Activists Vandalise Andhra Jyothi Office For Anti-Modi Article

BJP activists raised slogans and condemned such articles which defamed Modi’s image - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Tense atmosphere prevailed at Andhra Jyothi office in Jubillee Hills on Tuesday after BJP activists tried to gherao it. The unrest took place after the BJP party cadre protested against paper publishing articles against Prime Minister Narendra Modi beginning April 1. They raised slogans and condemned such articles which defamed Modi’s image; they further demanded that they put an end to such stories.

The police who were alerted of the matter, put barricades near the Andhra Jyothi office in a bid to stop the activists from trying to get into the office. Subsequently, an altercation between the officials and the activists led to the activists being detained.

It may be recalled that, last year the Nampally court took serious view of Andhra Jyothi managing director Vemuri Radhakrishna's non-appearance before the court in a defamation case and issued non-bailable warrant against him. The case pertains to a defamation case filed by YSRCP leader and Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy in connection with the misrepresentation of facts on YS Jagan-Narendra Modi meeting. Apart from Radhakrishna, editor K Srinivas, publisher Seshagiri Rao and four others have to appear before the court.
