Biker Assaults Traffic Policeman For Questioning Helmet Rule Violation

Mysore: A police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) was on Tuesday attacked by a biker when he stopped the commuter for not wearing a helmet.

The incident occurred at Siddharth Nagar locality here on Tuesday. According to the police, ASI Padmanabha along with a few traffic police personnel was conducting searches by stopping the vehicles at Siddharth Nagar. The biker, Manish, tried to escape from the police by diverting his two-wheeler to another road. However, he was caught by the policeman. The ASI questioned biker Manish for violating traffic rule by riding bike without helmet.

Manish entered into an argument with Padmanabha and questioned him as to why they were stopping the vehicles without repairing the pot-holed roads in the city. In a fit-of-rage, Manish allegedly assaulted the policeman and fled from the scene. The injured officer was rushed to a hospital. Meanwhile, the police registered a case against Manish and launched a hunt to nab him.
