Bike crushed under bus' front wheel, thwarts major mishap

Unruly driving by a APSRTC bus driver led to seven persons being injured at Rejimental bajar in Secunderabad on Wednesday afternoon, after the driver failed to apply the brakes.
Incidentally it was a bike that stopped the bus from creating more havoc. According to police, the bus which was plying from Uppal to Medchal hit a scooter carrying two people and four pedestrians as soon as it reached Secunderabad railway station.
The two commuters on the scooter escaped with minor injuries as their scooter came under the wheels of the bus. Ironically it was bike that stopped the bus from going on a rampage and injuring more commuters.
Eye witnesses said that the bus driver failed to apply the brakes on time and ended up injuring the commuters.
But the driver, defending himself said that the brakes had failed and that he could not control the bus at the time of the accident. The injured were identified as Venu, Srinival and five others. They were rushed to a nearby hospital. Police took the driver into custody and are investigating the matter.
