Bayyaram is not Palakova to be gifted away: Sharmila to Ramoji Rao
YSR Congress Party leader Sharmila launched a blistering attack on Eenadu Group of companies chairman, Ramoji Rao, and accused him of leveling unsubstantiated charges against her. Her spectacular counter-attack sought to silence her critics, including Ramoji Rao.
Addressing a huge gathering at Darsi in Prakasam district, Sharmila said, "There was a banner item on Ramoji-owned Eenadu daily against me, stating that Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy had allotted Bayyaram mines to me."
Sharmila, who has so far ignored Ramoji, launched a sharp attack and said time has come for the people to know about Ramoji's dishonesty. She said that a whopping 200 cases were booked against Ramoji.
"Never before in the history of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, were so many cases were booked against an individual. He grabbed lands from everyone, including his relatives and even his son. He is a money-minded person. To build Ramoji film City, even government lands were grabbed," she said.
"Ramoji had sold his own films to his own production house and made Rs 800 crores. Even the IT department is aware of this and has booked a case against him," Sharmila said.
She said that Bayyaram mines were in operation even during NTR's rule as also Chandrababu's rule. "If the mines were of any great quality, Chandrababu would have gifted them awy to his cronies Sujana Chowdary or Nama Nageswara Rao. YSR has never done anything that violates the laws of the land. The mines are not 'palakova' sweetmeats that can be given to me. Chandrababu and Ramoji Rao have no credibility and sincerity and that is why they try to resort to character assassination," she said.
"If their allegations are true then why did Eenadu fail to mention the benefits that must have accrued to me?" Sharmila asked.
