Ballaya ignores Ambedkar, Dalits stage dharna

Dalits in Hindupur are up in arms against their MLA and actor Nandamuri Balakrishna.

They are angry because Balayaa did not garland the statue of Ambedkar on his birth anniversary. Balaiah is currently on a trip of his constituency and has through his associates informed the people of Lepakshi that he would garland the statue of Babasaheb. As a result, a large number of people, especially the Dalits, gathered in large number. However, Balayya, who passed by, did not bother to stop and greet the people.
Angered villagers staged a dharna near Ambedkar statue protesting against what they called Balaiah's 'misdemeanor.' On knowing about the dharna, TDP MP Nimmala Kistappa rushed to the spot to pacify the angry workers.
