Bail rejected to Mopidevi, Acharya
The CBI Special Court on Tuesday rejected the bail application of the former Excise minister Mopidevi Venkataramana in the Vanipic case.
After hearing both the sides, the judge felt that sanctioning bail to him is not possible at this stage and extended his judicial remand till October 25. The CBI sleuths arrested Mopidevi on May 24 in connection with the irregularities in the Vanpic project case.
The court also extended the judicial remand of industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad and a senior bureaucrat K V Brahmananda Reddy till October 25. The CBI court also extended judicial custody of IAS officer BP Acharya to till October 25.
