‘Backdoor’ Recruiting Gang Busted, Kingpins Arrested

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Crime police on Saturday arrested two fraudsters of a gang which was cheating job seekers by offering to provide jobs in reputed MNC companies with high salaries. The gang collected huge sums from 18 persons from the city for getting them jobs through ‘backdoor’.

Based on the investigation, police nabbed the two kingpins of the online fraud gang in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. The police said, Neetu Kumar and Kishan Kumar had formed a gang with Somesh Reddy and Kishan Kumar’s wife and their associates Shikha Sharma and two more women by giving advertisements on popular websites about job opportunities in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and other major cities in the country.

When the interested people consulted them, the two women Shikha Sharma and Asha would fox them as they were from the HR department of the MNC they were looking for and make them to deposit money in lakhs into their bank accounts. They would tell the gullible candidates that the money would be distributed among the officials for recruiting them via ‘backdoor’.

Police said, a victim from Kukatpally area lodged a complaint with them after he was cheated by the gang in the name of providing him a job in an MNC. The fraudsters collected 1 lakh from the victim.

Police Inspectors Balakrishna Reddy and Kishan Reddy arrested the kingpins of the gang Neethu Kumar and Kishan Kumar on Saturday and recovered an amount of Rs.45,000 from them after filing a cheating case under the cyber crime Acts against them.
