Babu-BJP Continue To Be Friends: Congress
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh PCC President Raghuveera Reddy criticised that TDP and BJP were continuing their drama in regards to Special Category Status (SCS) to AP. Speaking to the media here today, he informed that both the parties had cheated the five crore people of the state and the people were in no position to believe them anymore.
The PCC chief accused that Amit Shah and Chandrababu were jointly manipulating and misguiding the people. He said that TDP chief should have reacted to Amit Shah's claim to have released Rs 1.40 lakh crores to the state at a public meeting in Tadepalligudem. It was no use questioning him now, he asserted.
Raghuveera Reddy observed that during the states bifurcation, it was the Congress party which promised SCS to AP, and only this party would award SCS in 2019. The TDP-BJP duo were avoiding SCS because Congress would get the credit for it, he said. "Congress had state's welfare on the top of the mind while bifurcating but it was the party which was at a loss due to the bifurcation. While Prime Minister Modi hit on the self-respect of the people in the state, Chandrababu put the rights of five crore people in the hands of centre," he said.
The former minister pointed out that people in the state were slowing understanding the things and both TDP, BJP cannot further play the blame-game and escape. He pointed out that if the centre could fulfill the promises made in the AP Bifurcation Act along with awarding SCS, over Rs five lakh crores benefits would be enjoyed by the people in the state.
