Babu acting as agent of Singapore, Japan: Raghuveera - Sakshi Post

Congress on Monday alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was acting as an agent of the governments of Singapore and Japan.

After an intensive tour in the proposed capital region in Guntur district today, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president N Raghuveera Reddy told reporters that the government's decision to take 35,000 acres of land from farmers is only to benefit companies from Singapore and Japan to establish their businesses and industries.

Reddy questioned if the capital needed such a huge chunk of land and questioned why the most fertile land is required to set up the capital. He alleged that officials are using the police to threaten farmers who are unwilling to relinquish their lands.
Objecting to Reddy's claims, state Irrigation minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao demanded that he withdraw the word agent. Rao said that the Andhra Pradesh government plans to construct a capital with world class designs and that the proposed state capital region is centrally located for all districts.
