Attempt to murder case filed against ex Tv9 scribe
A case of attempt to murder has been filed against TV9 ex-journalist, who attacked TV9 CEO Ravi Prakash with his slippers in Kurnool.
Ramana, former stringer of TV9 at Allagadda slapped Ravi Prakash with slippers while the latter addressing a meeting. The whole episode has been beamed live across the State yesterday. Ramana worked as TV9 stringer and left the organization 3 years back. He started a photo studio at Nandyala.
He reportedly told the police that he had slapped Ravi Prakash because he was a corrupt journalist. He had lost temper when he (Ravi Prakash) was talking about preventing faction feuds in Rayalaseema. He also charged Ravi Prakash with squeezing funds from business people. Ramana uttered while beating Ravi Prakash: “You should be with moral values before you preaching morals to others”.
The police registered a case under Sections 307 and 120 (B) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Ramana who was lodged in the Kurnool town police station. Meanwhile, Ramana’s mother Jayamma said Ravi Prakash would be held responsible if anything done to her son. She alleged that her son was beaten up by TV9 crew even in the presence of the police. She demanded a criminal case against the TV9 staff for manhandling her son.
Kurnool CI Naidu clarified that they had booked a case against Ramana on the complaint by TV9 staff. He, however, said no complaint has been received from Ramana’s relatives.
