ATM Security Guard Gives Rs 20 For Tea To Celebrity Couple Hit By Demonetisation

Chennai: Noted singer and dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripada along with her actor husband Rahul Ravindran landed in India on Thursday morning only to find herself cashless and helpless due to demonetization.

The singer said that they didn’t have smaller denomination notes as they were in US when demonetisation was announced. Like any other citizen, the couple went to withdraw smaller denomination notes from the ATM, but they were informed by the security guard that the machine gets replenished at 10am and the cash gets over within two hours.

However, the ATM security guard proved to be a good samaritan and gave them Rs 20 to have tea. The singer took to Facebook to narrate her experience. "A lot of us have our hearts in the right place. We are kind. We are good. We just forget that," she posted.

One of the users said that she could have used debit card to have tea. To this she said, "Also do let me know how many local tea vendors take debit cards."

While, other user said that she should have come prepared for the situation, to this she said, "I don’t own a TV and I don’t watch the news. How would one come prepared when no one has cash?" Many opined that the security guard stole the show with his humbleness in helping the couple.
