Assets on the Reddy's name belong to me?- DGP Dinesh

Responding to the allegations against him, DGP Dinesh Reddy on Wednesday said that Former minister and Congress MLA Shankar Rao was indulging in blackmail.

The DGP said that Rao was trying to benefit from blackmailing him and the Commissioner. The former minister had leveled allegations against the DGP for not transferring the police officers recommended by him, the DGP added. He advised Shankar Rao to check the details of his assets at the Registrar office. The assets on the Reddy's name belongs to me? he asked. He also said that he was ready for any probe on his assets. He would file a defamation suit against Shankar Rao if required, Dinesh Reddy warned.

The Saifabad police grilled Shankar Rao over derogatory remarks against Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and DGP Dinesh Reddy.

Following the direction of the court,  Saifabad police registered a case against Shankar Rao under sections 500 (Punishment for defamation), 506 (Criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 3 of the Police Incitement Act.
