Assembly results reflect anti-Cong mood: Venkaiah
Results of Assembly polls in four states reflect anti-Congress mood prevailing in the country and the stage is set for Congress party's ouster at the Centre, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said today.
There is a pro-BJP mood across the country. BJP is the only challenger to the Congress. That has been proved beyond doubt. Only in Delhi, Aam Admi Party, being a new party making very pious promises, were able to take some anti-Congress votes, he told reporters here.
The Delhi unit of BJP needs to learn some lessons from the election, he said, expressing confidence that the party would get majority in the national capital as well.
It will be a BJP government. Nobody else can form government in Delhi, he said.
At the national level, it is very clear now. Congress will be out. It will be a total rout. There is no doubt about the same. Because, at the national level, the only alternative is the BJP, he said.
He appreciated the stellar roles played by BJP leaders Vasundhara Raje in Rajasthan, Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Madhya Pradesh, Raman Singh in Chhattisgarh and Harsh Vardhan in Delhi in the victories in those states.
Stating that national issues, parties and leaders dominate the Lok Sabha elections, he expressed confidence that BJP would get comfortable majority in the 2014 general elections under the leadership of Narendra Modi, whose impact is universal.
Today's results came as a slap on the face for Congress whose top leaders including Sonia Gandhi indulged in politics of arrogance against BJP, he said.
