Aspiring Models From Poor Families Targeted In Flesh Trade; 7-Member Inter-State Gang Busted
Hyderabad: Girls from poor families were trapped in a prostitution racket which was busted here in the city on Saturday. Teens, who are aspiring to become models, were majorly targeted by the organizers, said the police. Kingpin of the racket — Sunjay from Kolkata, West Bengal, used to supply girls to high-profile customers in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other metro cities.
Total of seven members - Rajesh Parwal, Kiran Kumar Reddy, Guru Rajesh, Sravan Reddy, Ajay kumar and Mohammad Afsar - in the gang were picked up by the Hyderabad SOT police for running the racket on Saturday. The police also rescued a woman from Hyderabad and another from Bengaluru city.
Afsar was currently helping the gang to run prostitution at Izzath Nagar near Kondapur in IT Corridor. Total of Rs27,580 cash, two four-wheeler vehicles, five mobile phones were recovered from the a flat in Madhapur. The Cyberabad police also mulling to seize the flat which was used for flesh trade. The police are said to have planning to invoke Preventive Detention Act against the traffickers.
