Asia Cup: Indian Girls Fold Up Bangladesh for 54
The inaugural of Asia Cup Cricket tourney saw Indian girls in full flow. The Indian woman's team bundled out Bangladesh for a mere 54 in T20 match and won the match impressively by 64 runs.
India scored 118 runs for six wickets with the help of Mithali Raj's breezy 49 and Smriti Mandana's 41. The opening pair put on a 70 run partnership.
Set a target of 119 runs, Bangladesh crumbled soon. At one stage, it lost three key wickets for a mere 13. Though Salma Khatun and Shalia Sharmin tried to steady the innings, they could not last long and the Bangla tailenders fell like nine pins folding up their innings for a mere 54 runs. Poonam Yadav scalped three wickets, while Goswami, Anuja Patil took two wickets each.
