Asauddin Owasi reiterates to keep AP united
Hyderabad, The Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) president and Lok Sabha member Asauddin Owasi on Wednesday reiterated their party’s stand on united State. In a press conference held in Hyderabad, he explained the major points in the party’s 46- page letter to Group of Ministers (GoM), sent recently. According to him, MIM’s first priority is to keep the State united.
“If bifurcation is inevitable, we demand for Rayala Telangana, by clubbing Kurnool and Anantapur districts of Rayalaseema with the proposed state,” he said.
He strongly opposed the proposal of making Hyderabad a Union Territory and also Hyderabad as joint capital. According to him, Hyderabad, if the State is divided, should be the unconditional capital.
"We don't want union status or central rule for Hyderabad. There is no question of allowing central control over law and order, municipal administration, revenue, land administration, higher education and medicare in Hyderabad. Such a proposition would adversely impact Hyderabad," he quoted the letter wrote to GoM.
If the state is bifurcated the only political beneficiary of this bifurcation would be unfortunately the BJP, he added, while expressing apprehensions on the secular set up of the State.
