Asaduddin Owaisi barred from entering into Bengaluru
Hyderabad: Bengaluru city police on Thursday served a notice on MIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi barring him from entering Bengaluru city from February 19 to 25.
On behalf of city’s police commissioner M.N. Reddy, a police team from Bengaluru visited the MIM headquarters at Darussalam in Hyderabad and served the notice. The notice barred him from entering the city and desisted him from attending any public meet directly or through audio-visual or any other medium in the city for seven days. The notice was issued under Section 144 (3) of CrPc.
He was granted permission on February 8 to address a public meeting organised by the MIM Bengaluru unit on February 21, which they later withdrew.
The commissioner M.N. Reddy in the notice said Owaisi had “lashed out at the well-known actor Salman Khan for joining Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a kite-flying ceremony in Ahmedabad, during a speech on January 24, using caustic words.” Owaisi’s controversial comments on Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev was the other reason for denying permission.
