Army Men Attempt To Rape Transgender Woman, Police Say They’re Helpless
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a group of Army personnel made a rape attempt on transgender woman before thrashing the victim. The incident occurred near Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on Saturday night.
The incident came to light after the activists took to social media by sharing the photos of the victim, who had suffered bruises on her body. According to the details, the military men, who were guarding the Parade Ground premises, allegedly pulled the woman into the ground and tried to strip her.
The victim resisted and raised alarm. The Army men thrashed the woman black and blue. However, the victim managed to escape from them and approached the police patrolling vehicle which was parked near the Parade Ground. Noticing that the police officials on duty were recording the statement of the woman, the Army men tried to stop the police and snatching away the gadget. Arguing with the police personnel, one of Army men smashed the phone.
In fact, the police also said that they were helpless as the area comes under jurisdiction of The Indian Army. "It is a military area, civilians are barred from entering the notified area," said Begumpet Inspector Jagan. No case has been registered following the incident.
