Arguments on Jagan's bail plea begins

Arguments on the bail petition filed by Kadapa MP and YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy began in the Principal Special CBI Court in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The CBI today filed its counter petition on Jagan's bail petition.. He has been in jail for over 15 months in connection with the case pertaining to quid pro quo deals.
In the bail plea, filed through his counsel, Jagan Mohan Reddy said that in view of the ongoing agitation in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions regarding bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, there was a need for him to be with the people and lead the stir as a leader of a political party.

The CBI on Tuesday filed two new chargesheets against Jagan in the case. State minister  Geetha Reddy is also named in one of the chargesheets. The CBI had now filed 10 chargesheets in the case so far.

The CBI court had issued notices to the CBI  asking it to file its counter affidavit before the next hearing and had posted the matter for September 18 (today).
