AP youth kidnapped in Nigeria released

A youth from Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, who was kidnapped in Nigeria last month, has been released from his captors.

T Srinivasa Rao (26), living at Benim town in Nigeria and working for a Nigerian company, was abducted in the last week of November, Guntur police had said. In a statement released here today, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Information and NRI affairs P Raghunatha Reddy said, Rao has since been released. The minister, who had earlier taken up the matter with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and also the Indian Embassy in the African country, thanked the Centre and also the Nigerian government for the release of the youth.
