AP special status issue: Cong to file police complaints - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Alleging that the ruling BJP-TDP combine deceived people by making promises like special status to Andhra Pradesh during elections last year, the Congress on Sunday said it would file police complaints across the state for three days from tomorrow on the issue.

``We will be lodging complaints in all police stations in Andhra Pradesh on September 7, 8 and 10. We will give evidences like election manifestos, the assurances given by Chandrababu Naiduji, Modiji in a public meeting at Tirupati and how they are diluting and making a U-turn on their promises,'' AP Congress president N Raghuveera Reddy told.

Andhra Pradesh was promised special status by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Parliament during state bifurcation last year.
Alleging that the NDA deceived people of AP by not implementing the promises even after coming to power, Reddy claimed that police complaints would be filed under IPC section 418 (cheating with knowledge that wrongful loss may ensue to person whose interest offender is bound to protect).

Congress would also submit the dying declarations of those who allegedly committed suicide over the Centre not granting special status to AP, he said.
