AP Secretariat Leaks Again, Rains Expose Hollowness Of TDP Government’s ‘Singapore’ Claims
It was the same story!! One rain and AP's famed temporary secretariat, which is Chandrababu Naidu's architectural ''teaser trailer'' of the massive capital city that would put Singapore to shame, lay in shambles.
It was water everywhere in Block IV of the secretariat on Tuesday. Water leaked from the roofs, through the walls, along the walls and pillars in several offices in the temporary secretariat at Velagapudi. In several places, rain-soaked ceiling chipped off and rain water entered into several offices affecting the normal work in the secretariat. At several places, the watch and ward staff were seen draining rain water using buckets and tumblers.
Among the places where rain water leaked are: the irrigation department, ante room of Minsiter Ganta Srinivasa Rao and the chambers of Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao.
In June, one rain was enough to literally flood the secretariat and assembly. Water gushed into Leader of Opposition YS Jagan's chambers on the assembly premises. The ruling dispensation tried to pass it off as a conspiracy and even ordered a probe into it. It even claimed that a pipe was deliberately cut to flood the chamber.
YSRCP Slams Faulty Construction
Slamming the poor quality of construction of the secretariat, YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy said greed for kickbacks has caused these leaks. He said behind the ''leakages'' are shameful stories of "packages" to the ruling party leaders.
This Is A Small Matter, says Narayana
However, Municipal Affairs Minister P Narayana said seepage was a small issue and that there was no need to pay any attention to this. He said the construction company will repair these leaks. He said the Opposition was trying to magnify a small issue.
