AP heading towards President's rule?

Will Andhra Pradesh head towards President's rule? With CM Kiran Kumar Reddy's resignation on Wednesday, speculations are rife that Centre is contemplating declaring President's rule in AP.

As state elections are due in a couple of months, the Congress high command may not feel the need to appoint a new chief minister for the state.  

In the state, the President’s rule was last imposed on January 11, 1979.
