AP Govt Sacks Swacchandhra Mission Brand Ambassador Ghazal Srinivas 

Vijayawada: In yet another blow, Ghazal Srinivas who is cooling his heals behind the bars after being booked in a sexual harassment case, has been sacked from the position of Brand Ambassador of Swacchandhra Mission on Sunday.

The Andhra Pradesh government issued a notification removing Ghazal Srinivas from his position as he is facing serious charges in a case related to sexual harassment of a radio jockey working with his web radio station Aalayavani. The victim recorded Ghazal Srinivas' advances using a CCTV camera in the office and the footage in the videos shocked various sections of society including the literary and cultural circles. People had always seen him as a genuine artiste who created a niche for himself by popularizing Telugu Ghazals.

The evidence produced by the victim, around 20 videos and pictures showing Ghazal's misconduct, was so strong that the court rejected his bail petition twice and he is undergoing remand at Chanchalguda jail now. His female worker who forced the victim to yield to his sexual advances was also made an accused in the case and has gone absconding.

Ghazal was made the Brand Ambassador of Swacchandhra Mission of AP in February last year and was also expecting a gubernatorial position soon. He reported to have told the victim that he was going to become a Governor soon and if she yielded to his advances, he would get her a central government job.
