AP govt pools over 30,000 acres for capital till Sat evening
The Andhra Pradesh government has pooled more than 30,000 acres of land till late this evening for the construction of state's capital in Vijayawada region.
Farmers have given maximum land for land pooling. Around 27,000 acres of land, even 28,000 acres of land, they have given. This is the first of its kind in India. Around 95 per cent of farmers came forward to give land under land pooling.
This is a very good gesture from farmers. We are working in that direction, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu told reporters in Hyderabad. State Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said that more than 30,000 acres of land has been pooled till 8 PM tonight.
The process of land pooling was expected to continue till tonight and a few hundred acres of land is likely to be pooled by midnight when the deadline ends, he said in a release.
