AP govt, CII, Singapore Univ sign MoU
The Andhra Pradesh Government, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and The National University of Singapore (NUS) have signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to conduct research on "Ease of doing business".
The MoU would become effective from April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2018. Under the MoU, the AP state government, NUS and CII would work in collaboration to research on elements of business. Towards the end of their work it aims at drawing a master plan on Ease of doing business in Andhra Pradesh as part of Vision 2020.
The areas of their research would concentrate on starting up a new business, strategies and assessment, enhancement of economic competitiveness, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, land acquisition ,registration of property, gaining credit, preserving minority interests, paying taxes.
The MoU also proposes regular meetings to exchange ideas and research strategies, joint seminars where NUS, CII and AP state can keep themselves posted on the research progress and updates.Asian Competitiveness Institute at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy would be the platform for investment research, to study economic situations and investment opportunities in AP ASEAN and China. The trio would also prepare a joint Annual Progress Report (APR) with a sum up and details of their research findings.
