AP Government’s Apathy In Providing Security To YS Jagan

Hyderabad: The government of Andhra Pradesh has failed once again in following protocol and in providing adequate security to leader of the opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

YS Jagan is entitled to the protocol equivalent to that of a cabinet minister but on Wednesday, the YSRCP chief faced protocol issues which should definitely embarrass the government. On his arrival at the Gannavaram airport, YS Jagan was provided with a bullet-proof vehicle whose AC was non-functional and its interiors were not cleaned. After the issue was brought to the notice of the police officials, another vehicle was provided in Guntur.

However, the second vehicle suffered flat tyre on the return journey from Guntur forcing the YSRCP leader to opt for a private vehicle. Incidentally, this was not the first time that the state government and the officialdom failed in their duty. During his journey from Kurnool to Hyderabad a few months ago, the car suffered a flat tyre. During his Visakhapatnam tour, a vehicle which is not in service was provided to him. During this tour, only one security guard was posted in front of the room he stayed.

Several YSRCP leaders feel that the lapses in protocol to the leader of opposition were deliberate actions of the AP government.
