AP decides on relief packages for capital lands
The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided on the relief and rehabilitation packages for the land to be acquired for constructing the new capital of the state.
The packages were decided at a cabinet committee meeting held on Saturday under the chairpersonship of Minister Narayana. The cabinet committee has divided the lands to be acquired into three categories and allocated category specific packages.
For the lands under the ayacut of Krishna river, the land givers will get 1100 sq yards of residential land, 200 sq yards of commercial land and an annual compensation of Rs 50000 per year.
Similarly for the land under the Lift Irrigation Schemes, 1100 sq yards would be given for residential use, 100 sq yards of commercial land. For the irrigated dry lands that would be acquired, 800 sq yards of residential space and 100 sq yards of commercial land would be given. In addition, Rs 30000 per annum would be given as compensation.
A total of 51786 acres of land would be acquired for the setting up of the capital. In the first phase, as much as 38000 acres would be acquired. The process would begin as per CRDA Ordinance from December 15.
