AP CM to commission ITDA at Chintur

AP CM to commission ITDA at Chintur - Sakshi Post

The ITDA will cater to the needs of tribals in four revenue mandals that have been merged into AP from Telangana after bifurcation. Chintur will be the seventh ITDA in the state and will cover four mandals, Bhadrachalam (except Bhadrachalam revenue village), Kunavaram, Chintur and Vara Ramachandrapuram, which have now become part of East Godavari district.

These mandals were initially made part of the existing Rampachodavaram ITDA after the merger but with the people facing difficulty in accessing services due to geographical constraints, the state government decided to establish an exclusive ITDA with Chintur as the headquarters, Andhra Pradesh Information and Public Relations Commissioner Krishna Mohan said. The villages under these mandals fall under the submergence region of the upcoming Polavaram multipurpose irrigation project.

For the first time since their merger with AP, Naidu will be touring the region on Tuesday and interact with the tribals where he will take part in several development programmes and launch welfare schemes in the region. The Chintur ITDA would cater to the welfare and development needs of the tribal population in the four mandals, he added. Three other revenue mandals, Velerupadu, Kukkunuru and Burgampahad, that were also merged from Telangana, were brought under K Ramachandrapuram ITDA in West Godavari district.
