'No one should expect capital in their district only'

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Forests Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy said that their government would form the capital at a place where the plenty of land and water are available.

He participated as a chief guest at a tree plantation program at Madala in Guntur district on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said, “The state government is yet to take a final decision on the new capital. No one should think that the capital must be in their district only.” Bojjala gave the above reply when the reporters posed a question on the new capital.

“There is only 500 acres of land between Vijayawada and Guntur. But, there is a plenty of land in Kurnool district. It is not proper for anyone to pressurize for capital to be formed in their respective district only,” said Bojjala.

Andhra Pradesh government declared Vijayawada as the temporary capital. Even Assembly speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao said the same. But the deputy chief minister K.E.Krishna Murthy is unhappy over forming the capital in Vijayawada.
