AP a role model in curbing Maoist violence, claims DGP
Andhra Pradesh DGP V Dinesh Reddy on Tuesday claimed that the state is a role model for other states in curbing the Maoist voilence.
He told this to reporters following a review meeting with his senior police officials.
Maoists are not active in the state, except in Visakhapatnam and Khammam districts and that too only to show that they exist, he said.
He added that police have taken stringent measures to maintain peace ahead of the panchayat polls slated to be held on July 23,27 and 31. We have identified sensitive villages. Additional forces would be deployed at such places, he said.
