Anti-Telangana employees to go on indefinite strike - Sakshi Post

Protests continued for the 13th consecutive day today in Seemandhra region of Andhra Pradesh against the move to create Telangana even as the state Non-Gazetted Officers Association set to begin its strike from midnight.

Agitations are on. However, the situation is under control in Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra districts, Additional Director General (Law and Order) VSK Kaumudi said.

Protesting Congress and UPA's decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh, supporters of united Andhra Pradesh including students and members of various organisations took to streets in hundreds across Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra regions and took out massive rallies, formed human chains and resorted to demonstrations on roads.

At Secretariat here, employees of Seemandhra region took out blind-fold rally even as they later tried to gherao ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Raghuveera Reddy and Pithani Satyanarayana demanding resignation from their posts.

Holding placards that read 'Jai Samaikyandhra', the agitators raised slogans in support of united Andhra Pradesh and took out bike rallies in Anantapur, Chittoor, Srikakulam and other districts.

The protests are continuing peacefully, DIG (Anantapur Range) B Balkrishna said.

The APNGOs (Government employees) are going ahead with their strike from midnight today, by abstaining duties to exert pressure on Congress party high command to reconsider the decision of the CWC to divide the state.

A report from Visakhapatnam, said rallies, relay hungers strikes, dharnas continued in Visakhapatnam district in protest against the formation of Telangana even as the Samaikyandhra agitation launched by various JAC groups and organisations including Samaikyandhra Student Joint Action Committee, entered 13th day today.
