Another Ragging Incident in ANU; Five Students Suspended

Guntur: Another ragging incident came to light in Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU), Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. According to sources, five B.Tech 2nd year ECE students allegedly harassed a first year Civil student, identified as Jayanth, on Thursday night. This incident prompted principal to suspend those five students from the hostel immediately. Sankar, Naveen, Venkata Krishna, Kalyan and Manoj are the students who received suspension orders from the principal.

On July 21 last year, an 18-year-old B.Arch student, Mondi Rishiteswari, who belonged to Warangal, was found hanging in her hostel room in the ANU. In this case, the principal of the college, G. Babu Rao, was also an accused as he supported senior students who were involved in ragging. Later the case was diluted and no action has been taken so far against the accused.
