AP HC Green Signal For Local Body Elections
AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh High Court gave the green signal for local body elections in the state on Friday. The High Court dismissed all the petitions filed challenging the local body elections in the state.
The government had already taken the decision to provide 60 per cent reservations to BC, SC and ST in local body elections. However, several lawsuits filed against it were pending in the high court. The court adjourned the hearing for four weeks and gave its assent to conduct elections for local bodies.
With the High Court nod, pending elections for the MPTC, ZPTC, Sarpanch and local bodies will soon be conducted
