Key Decisions In AP Cabinet Meeting
TADEPALLI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has approved several crucial decisions in the State Cabinet Meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday, November 13. The AP Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday, has taken key decisions on several issues.
As part of this, the Cabinet has approved several key decisions
1) Harsh punishments to be Imposed if involved in sand trafficking, illicit reserves, block marketing and resale of sand while attracting a minimum fine of up to Rs 2 lakh and imprisonment up to 2 years. AP Government approves for conducting sand weeks to increase the availability of sand in the state from November 14.
2) Cabinet approves establishment of Andhra Pradesh Environment Management Corporation APEMC to work on the collection, transport, storage and cleaning of industrial waste as well as other waste, which will clear wastes from over 9 thousand industries in the state which includes 2 thousand industries in the Red category, 5,56,317 tonnes of waste a year from 2683 industries, which further includes 2,11,440 tonnes of disposable waste and 3,13,217 tonnes of recyclable waste.
3) Cabinet unanimously approves for Introduction of English medium in all schools of Government and Zilla Parishad from 1st to 6th grade next year, Telugu or Urdu has been made compulsory subject.
AP cabinet announces that 98.5 per cent of private educational institutions are teaching in English medium. 37.21 lakh students studying in government schools from one to 10th grade. This includes 3265 Success High Schools parallel to the English medium teaching and 11,37,043 students studying in English medium. Currently, 98.5 per cent of the pre-school education institutions in private sectors are in English medium. But only 34 per cent of the pre-school education is in English.
4) State Cabinet approves implementation of another scheme from Navaratnalu to increase the family's ex gratia in case of accidental fisherman's death. With this the compensation has increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. This scheme is applicable for those who have registered under the age of 18 to 60 years under the YSR Bheema Scheme. This is applied by 4,05,357 beneficiaries till now.
5) The Cabinet has approved to regularize unauthorized layouts to help lower and middle class families.
6) Cabinet approves for amendment of Andhra Pradesh Solar Power Policy 2018, Andhra Pradesh Wind Power Policy 2018, Andhra Pradesh Wind, Solar and Hybrid Power Policy 2018.
*Cabinet approves for the establishment of 84 village courts in the state, the government will amend the Village Courts Act-2008 besides the Andhra Pradesh Advocates Welfare Fund Act.
7) The cabinet approved to grant additional posts that include a director and three DFO ranked Assistant Director posts in the Home department.
8) Cabinet approves the amendment of Andhra Pradesh Lawyers' Welfare Fund Act.
9) Cabinet approves granting of additional posts in the Home Department.
Cabinet approval for continuation of posts of Assistant Directors.
10) Cabinet has taken the decision to approve the appointment of Trust Board members in eight temples in the state. The Cabinet approved for to amend Andhra Pradesh Municipal Law Act.

11) Cabinet approval for amendments to Andhra Pradesh Municipal Law Act
12) Cabinet approved to provide Minimum Support Price (MSP) to corn/maize farmers in the State.
AP CM YS Jagna also instructed officials to open purchase centres through the agriculture marketing department and provide MSP to the farmers with effect from November 13 afternoon.
Minister of Agriculture Kurasala Kannababu has said that a quintal of corn was priced at Rs 2,200 a week ago. There was a sudden fall in the price to Rs 1,500 within a week.
Chief minister ordered officials to take action and start purchasing the crops from the farmers by opening the purchase centres.
The Cabinet also approved of the decision to inaugurate purchase centres in Vizianagaram and Kurnool districts
