YS Jagan Condoles Death Of Visalandhra Former Editor C Raghavachari

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed grief over the death of Chakravarthula Raghavachari, veteran journalist and former editor of Visalandhra Telugu daily.

"Raghavachari believed in value based journalism, which was reflected in his writings and has been an inspiration to younger generations", he wrote in his message.

Chakravarthula Raghavachari (81) was a highly respected journalist and former editor of Vishalandra Telugu paper. He was admitted to the hospital with age-related problems, where he breathed his last on Monday morning.

Raghavachari was born on September 10th, 1939 and hailed from Shatapuram, Palakurthi mandal in Warangal district.

Raghavachari was also a well-known Communist leader and his services to the student movement as the AISF State President were immense. A senior journalist, Raghavachari served as the editor of Vishalandra for 30 years, which he took over in 1972 and continued till 2005. He also served as chairman of the CPI State Control Commission and as a member of the CPI National Control Commission.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao also expressed his condolences over the death of Raghavachari. His life as a committed journalist and valued social worker was unparalleled , he quoted.

Raghavachari's body will be shifted to Makdoom Bhavan,the CPI office in Himayatnagar. From there, his mortal remains will be taken to the Visalandhra office at Vijayawada in the evening for the public to pay their respects. CPI leader Ramakrishna, said that his body would be taken in procession to the crematorium for the last rites today evening.
